Most people don’t aware of YouTube dark mode feature. Because it is a hidden feature of YouTube. YouTube dark mode provides you an easier on the eye view experience. It feels very nice when you watch videos in the dark. YouTube dark mode is available in YouTube’s mobile app for Android, iPhone, iPad and also on the YouTube website and also on different browsers.

Methods to enable YouTube dark mode:-

Here are different methods for different devices and websites.

  • For Android Users:- 

Google starts to roll out a YouTube dark mode for android YouTube’s app but it is not in all devices yet.

  • Click on your profile icon which is at the top right corner of the YouTube app and click on the setting to search out YouTube dark mode.
  • Now, click on the General
  • Now, on the general screen, you can see a dark mode option. Enable it.
  • Now, you can see your YouTube dark mode is enabled.
  • For iPhone and iPad users:- 

In iPhone and iPad YouTube’s app has its own dark mode option. Follow the below-given steps to enable it:

  • At first, open the YouTube app on your device.
  • Click on your profile icon which is at the top right corner of the screen.
  • Click on settings from the available menu.
  • Now, activate the dark theme slider from the settings screen.
  • Now, you can see your YouTube dark mode is enabled.
  • On the Website:- 

For YouTube’s desktop website follow the below steps:

  • Tap on your profile icon which is at the top right corner of the page.
  • Tap on the dark theme option from the available menu.
  • In case, you are not signed in then tap on the menu option and you will find the same dark theme option here.
  • Now, activate the dark theme slider to enable the YouTube dark mode.

This setting applies only on your current web browser only, so you should enable the dark theme on each computer which one you use because it doesn’t sync with your account.

  • Chrome:- 

You should make sure that you are using the latest version of Google Chrome. To enable YouTube dark mode follows the below-given steps:

  • At first, open Google Chrome and navigate to the YouTube page.
  • Now, login to your Google account.
  • Open the developer tools pane on your Google Chrome. You can do this setting by tapping command-option-I for windows users and ctrl-shift-I for Mac users.
  • When you open the developer tool panel, tap on the console tab that opens on your right side of Google Chrome.

  • After copying this code, paste it and press the enter
  • Simply close the developer tools panel and press the enter button on YouTube page to enable YouTube dark mode feature.
  • Firefox:- 

To enable YouTube dark mode on Firefox, follow the below-given steps:

  • Launch your Firefox browser.
  • Now, navigate to the YouTube page.
  • After that, log in to your YouTube account.
  • Go to tools > web developer > web console. You can also do this by using the keyboard key ctrl + shift + K for windows user and cmd + option + K for Mac users.
  • After opening the panel, copy and paste the code:

To enable YouTube dark mode on Opera, follow the below-given steps:

  • Launch your Opera browser.
  • Now, login to your YouTube account.
  • Go to the view > show developer tools panel. After opening the developer menu, go to the developer > developer tools tab. You can also access this via keyboard shortcut by pressing ctrl + shift + I for windows user and cmd + option + I for Mac users.
  • After opening the panel, copy and paste the code:
